On the last day of the Week of Action, BAYAN members sought to meet with Philippine government representatives at the conclusion of a IMRF side event titled, "Towards Migration Governance with a Care Perspective" that exposed the neoliberal system of inserting migrant labor to make up for the gaps in the care industry. The Philippines was previously a speaker on the panel but eventually rescinded their role. Filipino caregivers make up a large population of care labor, whether that be through domestic work, care giving, and or personal assistants/nannies. Our campaigns Justice for Filipino Caregivers exposes the exploitative conditions that many caregivers face and raises the demands of the workers to the Philippine state.
At the end of a very eventful week, the activities concluded with a Solidarity Night that celebrated the different campaign victories throughout the week and uplifted the people's movement through song and dance.
