In a short study of the history and development of the people’s movement during Martial Law under the Marcos dictatorship, we will emphasize the linkages between the history during the Marcos regime to the current situation under Duterte. The study emphasizes the advance of the revolution and strengthening of the underground organizing as repression intensified under Martial Law and how lessons can be learned and applied to strengthening the people’s movement today.
