THE NTF-ELCAC’S FAKE GRIEF IS AN INSULT TO THE NEGROS 19 & THE FILIPINO PEOPLE.
ABOLISH THE NTF-ELCAC NOW!
After the gruesome massacre of 19 people in Toboso, Negros Occidental on April 19 and 20, 2026, the NTF-ELCAC (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict) launched a massive disinformation campaign to convince the public of their tired state narratives.
In their most recent statement on April 24, they claim to “mourn” the loss of life as a weak attempt to garner the sympathies of the people. But in truth, the NTF feels no remorse for the thousands of people whose lives they ruin through counterinsurgency and and militarization.
The Philippine government refuses to acknowledge that they murdered civilians, in clear violation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). There is no concrete basis for the Philippine military to take the lives of innocent individuals and marginalized communities, especially under an economic crisis that has thrust more of the people into the slow death of poverty.
The NTF-ELCAC cannot comprehend the idea of someone wanting to truly serve the people, to immerse in the daily lives of farmers and fisherfolk and be with them in their struggles. Instead, they mask the true criminals and perpetrators of violence in the countryside: the greedy landlords, the foreign corporate land grabbers, and the fascist military that protects them.
The honorable youth, human rights defenders, peasant organizers, community leaders, and people’s fighters who were mercilessly killed in Negros were the brave individuals who upheld the interests of the masses. Their efforts to defend the people are major contributions that have been commemorated by communities in Negros, across the Philippines, and even overseas.
Fascist state programs and apparatuses like the NTF-ELCAC have no future in a society designed for the interests of the people. After all, how can we trust the NTF-ELCAC to act in good faith, to “mourn” the lives lost, when it is the very same institution established by the criminal fascist Rodrigo Duterte, whose murderous rampage against the Filipino people is now being put on trial at the International Criminal Court.
No Filipino abroad wanting to return home to our motherland and stand with the most marginalized in society should have to fear government attack. The decision to return home to the Philippines and serve the people has our highest respect, and one that more Filipinos overseas should not be afraid to make.
Justice for the Negros 19!
Stop the killings! Stop the attacks!
Abolish the NTF-ELCAC! Expose the lies of the NTF-ELCAC & AFP!
End U.S.-backed violations of human rights and International Humanitarian Law in the Philippines!
Defend Negros!
